5th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the Napa Valley Chamber Orchestra (NVCO) proudly announces its Youth Benefit Concert, taking place Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the historic Jarvis Conservatory in Napa. Under the theme "Classical Music for All," this landmark performance celebrates five successful seasons of bringing timeless classical music to the region while raising vital funds to support free performances and education to Napa’s children and youth.
The afternoon’s program features a thrilling rendition of Vaughan Williams’ masterpiece, The Lark Ascending, showcasing acclaimed wunderkind violin soloist Samuel Strong, alongside guest woodwind and French horn players. Leading the orchestra is celebrated conductor Alexander Kahn, Assistant Conductor of the Santa Rosa Symphony and Conductor of the Napa Valley Youth Symphony (NVYS).
Additional jubilant selections for the anniversary program include St. Paul’s Suite by Holst, Serenade for Strings by Elgar, and Simple Symphony by Britten. "Reaching our fifth season is a testament to the incredible support of the Napa community," said Malcolm Mackenzie, Board Chair. "This benefit concert is not just a celebration of what we’ve accomplished, but an investment in Napa's musical future. Every ticket purchased helps us bring free concerts to our neighbors as well as music programs to our children in the community and elementary schools. The orchestra is also proud to highlight and support the classical-music education and experience provided by the Napa Valley Youth Symphony."
Following the performance, all attendees are invited to a wine, mineral water, and finger-food reception. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with our soloist, with Maestro Kahn, and with the musicians of the NVCO, all while enjoying classical "party music" performed by young talents of the NVYS.
